Teletherapy:

Teletherapy, also referred to as Telemental health,  involves the use of electronic communications to enable physicians and other healthcare professionals, including mental healthcare professionals, to improve the access to quality and appropriate care.  Teletherapy can greatly improve access to care for clients who have difficulty getting to and from appointments, those who don't have providers near them, and those who are seeking more flexibility with scheduling! In addition to clients in search of distance counselors Teletherapy is also available for my face-to-face clients as a complement to regular services.

Teletherapy services  are available to Texas Residents only. I provide Teletherapy services for individual adults (18+), Couples, Families, and Children (determinations for appropriateness are made on a case by case basis). For additional information on these services please click on the child and family therapy or couple and individual adult therapy tabs.  At this time Teletherapy services are only being offered via videoconferencing, sessions will not be conducted through phone, email or text messaging.

How Do I Qualify?

If possible it is strongly recommended that the initial session be done face to face so the appropriateness of Teletherapy can be evaluated. If this isn't possible a brief initial assessment will be conducted over the phone, free of charge to determine if Teletherapy is right for you. If deemed appropriate you will need to complete the Teletherapy Paperwork Packet, in addition to the Child or Adult intake packet (based on service requested). Please read the information on the New Client section of this website to learn more about what to expect from your first session.

In order to provide efficient services to clients and secure videoconferencing services I use the video platform Zoom that is available through the Therapy Appointment Client Portal. Instructions on how to access video links will be provided at the time of scheduling.

Will My Insurance Cover Teletherapy?

Every policy is different so you may or may not have coverage. The best way to find out is for you to contact your insurance provider and ask if you have coverage for Mental Health Teletherapy Services as an outpatient. Should services not be covered you will be responsible for the full rate, but I am happy to provide a monthly Out-Of-Network Statement upon request.
